Favor with God.
1 Peter 1:20b-23, But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;
The idea of suffering is not at all appealing in our culture. We don't even like to be inconvenienced; much less endure hardships or suffering. It certainly isn't like we have to go looking for the opportunity, but should it come our way we can take heart, for it is the way that Jesus walked. And should it happen, are we able to bear it as He did?
Give us Your strength in times of suffering, to entrust ourselves to You, Lord.
