The Sabbath was made for man.

Mark 2:27-28, And He was saying to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Consequently, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

One of my teachers was noting how remarkable that the Sabbath commandment comes right in the middle of the Ten Commandments. It comes right in the middle of the things that make sense about our relationships with God and with people. He clearly knows how we are made, and knows that we need a Sabbath rest. The religious authorities of Jesus' day had turned it into more of a burden than a rest, but He made that day for us and He wants us to benefit!

Thank You Lord, for a Sabbath rest, for making this just for us!
