Amend your ways.

Jeremiah 26:13-15, "Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you. But as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your sight. Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for truly the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing."

Jeremiah was faithful to his calling, to speak truth to the people even when his own life was at risk. We see his actions as being like those of our Lord who was faithful to do the works in His Father’s name, even though a cross awaited Him. Perhaps we who are not called to lay our lives on the line could consider being more bold in our faith?

Help us to speak the truth in love, to let Your light shine, to be faithful to what You call us to do in this world.
