'I am and there is no one besides me.'

Isaiah 47:10-11, "And you felt secure in your wickedness and said, 'No one sees me,' your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; for you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one besides me.' But evil will come on you which you will not know how to charm away; and disaster will fall on you for which you cannot atone, and destruction about which you do not know will come on you suddenly."

When it seems that evil is winning, we can take heart that the Lord has often used an evil nation to bring about His judgment. That evil nation thought that their success was from their own demented practices, when in fact they were only used in fulfilling the Lord’s plan. We can take heart even thought it looks like evil is winning, for His plans will be carried forth!

We put all of our hope in You, O Lord, for we know Your plans will be fulfilled!
